As most of you know, I LOVE to bake. And nothing gets me more excited to bake than fall's arrival. Fall has been late to arrive in Grand Junction, which is pretty normal, but I'm convinced that it is here to stay now. I enjoy the fall season and the cider, rain storms, football and coziness that come with it.
When I visited my local Albertson's in first part of September and was told of the canned pumpkin shortage, I almost keeled over in the aisle. (Read more about the pumpkin shortage here: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/39379122/ns/business-consumer_news/) Whenever I went to a different store, I would look for canned pumpkin and finally found it at the end of September at another Albertson's in town. Thank goodness the shortage is over!
It's also a good thing that I have a husband who loves to eat and therefore is willing to try out the results of all of my baking adventures!
I absolutely love trying new recipes as well. I have a "homemade" recipe book, and if I like the recipe, I will add it to my recipe book. Last week I made pumpkin "brownies" which was really just pumpkin cake. Today, I'm tried out pumpkin chocolate chip cookies and this recipe is a keeper! (Here is the recipe I'm using: http://www.sporkorfoon.com/spork_or_a_foon/2009/09/the-softest-pumpkin-chocolate-chip-cookies-in-the-history-of-the-world.html)
I think I may just eat these for dinner!!!
